About This Image:

The calendar showcases Singapore's annual people's parade and its long history dating back to the late 19th century. Chingay was a way for Singaporeans to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Eventually, other ethnic groups joined in and it became a multicultural parade. Today, in addition to our local ethnic groups, Chingay also welcomes performers from different cultures to take part in this vibrant performance.
