First Batch of Constabulary National Servicemen 1968
The Volunteer Special Constabulary was set up in Oct 1946 amid postwar anti-Japanese sentiment, strikes, and manpower shortages. In 1967 it was restructured to include National Servicemen. Defence Minister Lim Kim San attended the first passing-out parade of VSC NSmen at the Police Training School, Thomson Road.
