Time for the results: After voting closed in the Singapore National Referendum to decide on the type of merger with the Federation of Malaysia, ballot boxes arrived at the Singapore Badminton Hall counting centre. About 610,000 people cast their votes at 327 polling stations islandwide in the compulsory exercise. (Sept 1, 1962)
