Bukit Ho Swee fire, 1961 Print

Fire!: People salvaging belongings after a huge fire broke out in Bukit Ho Swee. The blaze, one of the worst in Singapore, left four people dead, 85 injured and about 15,000 homeless. Hundreds of attap huts went up in flames, with property losses estimated at $2.5 million. (May 25, 1961).
