About This Image:

Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ) moved out of its Victoria Street home to a new home in Toa Payoh, after 130 years. The convent used to be the home of many abandoned baby girls in Singapore before the war. The nuns established an orphanage and boarding house on school grounds, providing both shelter and education.
