About This Image:

Visitors enjoying water activities at the Golden Palace Holiday Resort, off Tampines Road, on 29 March 1971. The boat rides used to cost $2, while the sampans cost $1. For context, a bowl of fishball noodles used to cost between 30-50 cents in the early 70s. The resort closed at the end of 1971 and it was bought over by the government in 1973.
