About This Image:

The Hong San See Temple (meaning Temple on Phoenix Hill) at 30 Mohamed Sultan Road was first established by Nan An immigrants from Fujian, China. The temple is designed in traditional Hokkien style. The decorations on the roof were made with a unique technique called 'jian nian', where ceramics were trimmed, and fragments were used to form images and designs.
