Queen Elizabeth visits Toa Payoh, 1972 Print

The royal visit: Queen Elizabeth visited Toa Payoh, one of Singapore's first HDB estates, during her maiden visit in 1972 to learn about the nation's public housing policies. She and her husband, Prince Philip, visited some residents in their new flats and spent time in one of them admiring the view from the kitchen window. The Queen returned to Singapore in 1989 and 2006. (Feb 18, 1972)
